Getting There: Trolleys to return to Belmont
The nonprofit organization Belmont Trolley is working to bring trolley service back to Gaston County. Students in the College of Engineering are working with Belmont Trolley in an ongoing project to replace the cars diesel generators with a battery-powered system. Non-profit working to restore trolleys in Downtown Belmont
Read about Belmont Trolley Incorporate and their work to put two historic trolleys to use in Downtown Belmont HERE. Belmont Trolley is currently sponsoring a Senior Design project with UNC Charlotte and the Bosch Community Fund that will be completed in May 2022.
