UNC Charlotte Recognizes GKN Automotive for Long-Time Support and Generous Donation
The UNC Charlotte Engineering Senior Design Program is proud to recognize GKN Automotive for their long-standing participation and support. Since 2017, GKN Automotive has sponsored eight projects, providing invaluable opportunities for our engineering students to engage in real-world applications and innovative problem-solving.
In addition to their ongoing support, GKN Automotive has recently made a generous donation of surplus automation equipment from a robotic assembly line. This donation will significantly enhance our program’s capabilities, offering students hands-on experience with advanced automation technology. Pictured below is the donated equipment being picked up at GKN Automotive’s Newton, NC facility.
“We are deeply grateful to GKN Automotive for their unwavering commitment to our program,” said Jim Hartman, Director – Industrial Solutions Laboratory at UNC Charlotte. “Their support has been instrumental in shaping the future of our engineering students, and this recent donation will further enrich their educational experience.”
The UNC Charlotte Engineering Senior Design Program looks forward to continuing this fruitful collaboration with GKN Automotive, fostering innovation and excellence in engineering education.
